As a London-based artist and IB Visual Arts teacher, I have recently turned to ceramics after studying Fine Art at Kingston-Upon-Thames University. Using drawing as a tool, I am inspired by my observations of people, landscape and animals and birds. I like to work in an experimental manner and allow forms to suggest themselves rather than have a pre-conceived, fixed starting point. Recent sculptural pieces are thrown on the potter’s wheel, then adjusted and reassembled. Other forms are more functional and focus upon texture and colour through the use of slips, sgraffito, oxides and underglaze.
